Louis Jacquot was born in 1994, he is a graduate from the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he still lives and works.
His practice operates in a back-and-forth movement between sketchbooks and canvases, and between the canvas and the architectural space.

His large paintings with rounded edges are the result of drawings transferred onto the canvas, following the methods of Old Masters. Everyday objects and interior scenes—a bed, cushions, trestles—serve as sources for the expression of lines and stains. While playing with perception, magnification effects, and displacement, the artist employs a working process characterized by the creation of stretchers upholstered with light fabrics, onto which he applies multiple layers of a mixture that produces a distinct metallic wash.

He was the recipient of the Maurice Collin-Lefranc prize for painting in 2020 and a finalist for the Emerige Revelations grant in 2021.
He was a resident at Double Séjour in Clichy (2020), at the Weiss dotation fund in Paris (2022) and at Gate 44 in Milano (2023)

His work has been exhibited in galleries, project spaces and institutions, including Pace gallery (Seoul), Villa Magdalena (San Sebastian) and DS galerie (Paris).
